Museum is Closed
Unfortunately, we had to close our doors. If anyone is interested in starting a Children’s Museum or re-opening The Climbing Tree. Please send email through the Contact page. It was a great place for area kids and is greatly missed.
Museum Closing – Oct 1, 2011 after 5 years
Unfortunately, The Climbing Tree Children’s Museum will be closing it’s doors on October 1. We just don’t feel that the community can support a children’s museum anymore. The economy has hurt every one’s pocket book and our attendance has steadily fallen over the last year. We did have a couple amazing people step up and offer to be a part of the board but in looking at the big picture that was not going to be enough.
Derby Hat Deco Party
You are invited to a by-invitation-only event on May 5th from 7-9PM at The Climbing Tree. Come have a glass of wine and decorate your hat for the Annual Derby Days Fundraiser at RnR on May 7th! Please bring a hat to decorate and we will have all the flowers, feathers and ribbons you will ever need for just $2. We will have the hats that we made last year so you can also redo one and make it your own.

We would like to welcome Csilla Rodriguez to The Climbing Tree! Csilla will be teaching Creative Theater every second Wednesday from 10-12, for ages 1 month – 10 years old. Csilla is a teacher with a Master’s degree in Physical Education and she also is a certified Montessori teacher. Csilla has taught nearly every age, but her true passion is teaching in alternative preschools and toddler programs. Csilla presently stays at home with her 3 year old and 7 month old sons.
Creative Theater is all about FUN! Children will create costumes, props, practice, and then present the play all in the same morning! To kick off Creative Theater on February 16th, we will celebrate Valentines, friendship and the understanding of being different with this beautiful story of a handful of fishes! Come and make costumes with shiny scales and the waves of the ocean! Help us to play out the characters of the little creatures being scared by a big, scary looking and lovely fish, whose name is Al and needs our help to bring him to life so that he can find a friend!
